Does every iPhone support dual camera capture?
Dual-camera capture depends on your device's camera hardware and chipset. Most recent iPhones support it, but exact behavior, available zoom range and frame rates can vary by model. If your device can't run a specific mode, 2Shot will let you know.
What devices does 2Shot work on?
2Shot is built for iOS. It's designed to run on modern iPhones, and performance and available features scale with what your device's cameras and processor support.
Can I take photos and record video with both cameras?
Yes. You can capture stills from the front camera, the back camera, or both together, and record video the same way, in PIP, split-screen, or a single camera view.
What is PIP mode?
Picture-in-Picture shows your rear camera as the main frame with a small, draggable front-camera window layered on top. You can reposition that window anywhere on screen and it stays there while you shoot.
What is split-screen mode?
Split-screen divides the frame evenly between the front and back cameras, side by side, so neither angle is the "main" shot.
How does zoom work on the front and back cameras?
The front camera supports continuous zoom from 0.5x up to 10x, and the rear camera from 0.5x up to 20x. The actual range available to you depends on the lenses built into your specific device.
What does the ring light actually do?
It's a soft LED-style ring drawn around the front camera edge, with Warm, Daylight and Photo White presets, plus a brighter Studio Light option. On devices without a hardware flash, a front screen flash is used as a fallback for stills.
Which permissions does 2Shot ask for, and why?
Camera access to capture photo and video, microphone access to record audio with your videos, and gallery access to save your captures and let you browse your private 2Shot gallery. Each permission is requested only when the related feature is used.
Where do my photos and videos get saved?
Captures are saved to 2Shot's private gallery on your own device. They are not uploaded to external servers as part of the capture flow.
Does 2Shot upload my media to the cloud?
No. 2Shot does not store your captured media externally. What you record stays on your device.
Does 2Shot record audio through the microphone?
Yes, when you record video, 2Shot uses the microphone to capture audio alongside footage from either or both cameras. Microphone access is only requested when you use a recording feature that needs it.
Is my personal data collected or tracked in the app?
2Shot does not collect personal data for analytics inside the app. This website uses privacy-preserving analytics separately to understand site traffic, and that is never connected to the app itself.
Why can't I use dual camera on some devices?
Simultaneous front-and-back capture requires camera hardware and processing capability that not every device has. Where dual capture isn't supported, 2Shot will indicate that rather than attempting an unsupported mode.
